I tried to do a permanent decryption of a partition on an external hard drive. It got physically disconnect half way through the decryption procedure. When I reconnect the device it wouldn't accept my password. So I restored the volume headers using the backup embedded in the volume. This successfully restored the headers and the decryption resumed as before. At this stage I went to bed at there were several hours remaining.
My laptop automatically rebooted last night as part or a planned server pack updated (I checked the event viewer logs). Now I can't access my encrypted drive either mounting it or selecting permanent decryption of the drive. Each time it says the password is incorrect. I've tried to select resume decryption but it says there is no drive that is in the middle of decryption. I also tried to restore the headers like before but it won't accept my password now.
So I really don't understand what's going on. I really need to get the contents of the encrypted drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
This is my system:
OS: Windows 10 Home
When I try to resume interrupted decryption I get this:
